Location: On the Deschutes River, in Deschutes National Forest

Campsites, facilities: There are 12 sites for tents, trailers, or RVs up to 22 feet long. Picnic tables and fire grills are provided. Vault toilets and piped water are available. Leashed pets are permitted.

Reservations, fees: Reservations are required for groups; phone (541) 382-9443. Individual sites are $7 per night, and group sites are $50 per night (up to 75 people), plus $3-$5 per additional vehicle. The campground is open from late June to October.

Directions: From Interstate 5 south of Eugene, drive 73 miles southeast on Highway 58. Turn east on County Road 61. Drive three miles, then continue north on Cascade Lakes Highway (Highway 46) for approximately 30 miles to the campground.

Trip notes: This wooded campground is on the banks of the Deschutes River in a beautiful, lush green spot. It's slightly more developed than the nearby Mile site.
