Location: Near Lookout Point Reservoir.

Campsites, facilities: There are five tent sites and 56 sites for trailers or RVs. Electricity, piped water, sewer, cable TV, and telephone hookups, and picnic tables are provided. Flush toilets, sanitary services, showers, firewood, a laundry room, and a playground are available. Bottled gas, a café, and ice are within one mile. Boat docks and launching facilities are nearby. Leashed pets and motorbikes permitted.

Reservations, fees: Reservations are accepted. Sites are $18-$22 per night. The campground is open year-round. Website: www.dextershoresrvpark.com

Directions: From Interstate 5 south of Eugene, take exit 188 and go east on Highway 58. Drive 11.5 miles, turn south on Lost Creek Road, then turn left on Dexter Road and drive one-half block east to the park on the right.

Trip Notes: If you're traveling on Interstate 5, this RV park is well worth the 15-minute drive out of Springfield. It's across the street from Dexter Point Reservoir, where fishing and boating are permitted, and within waling distance of Lookout Point. Swimming, sailing, windsurfing, and waterskiing are allowed on nearby Dexter and Fall Creek Lakes.
