Location:
On Lava Lake in Deschutes National Forest
Campsites, facilities: There are 43 sites for tents, trailers,
or RVS up to 22 feet long. Picnic tables and fire grills are provided.
Piped water and vault toilets are available. Piped water, showers,
a laundry room, a fish cleaning station, and sanitary disposal services
are available. Boat docks and launching facilities are available.
Boat rentals are nearby. Leashed pets are permitted.
Reservations, fees: No reservations are accepted. Sites are
$10 per night, plus $3-$5 per additional vehicle. The campground
is open from April 20 through October, weather permitting.

Directions: From Interstate 5 south of Eugene, drive 73 miles
southeast on Highway 58. Turn east on County Road 61. Drive three
miles, then continue north on Cascade Lakes Highway (Highway 46)
for approximately 33 miles to Forest Service Road 500, turn right
(east) and drive one half mile to the campground...it's on Lava
Lake. (you will pass the entrance to Little Lava Lake campground)
Trip notes: This well-designed campground is on the shore
of pretty Lava Lake. Mount Bachelor and the Three Sisters are in
the background, making a classic picture. Boating and fishing are
popular.
