Location:
Near Lava Lake in Deschutes National Forest
Campsites, facilities: There are 10 sites for tents, trailers
or RVs up to 22 feet long. Picnic tables and fire grills are available.
Vault toilets and hand-pumped water are provided. Boat launching
facilities are on site. Leashed pets are permitted.
Reservations, fees: No reservations accepted. Sites are $5
per night, plus $3-$5 per additional vehicle. The campground is
open from late June to late September, weather permitting.

Directions: From Interstate 5 south of Eugene, drive 73 miles
southeast on Highway 58. Turn east on County Road 61. Drive three
miles, then continue north on Cascade Lakes Highway (Highway 46)
for approximately 33 miles to Forest Service Road 500, turn right
(east) and drive one half mile to the campground...it's on Little
Lava Lake. (Just up the road is the entrance to Lava Lake campground)
Trip notes: The campsites at this popular campground are
not well marked, but the camping area is near the lakeshore. Boating,
fishing, swimming and hiking are some of the recreation options.
