Location:
On Elk Lake in Deschutes National Forest
Campsites, facilities: There are eight sites for tents, trailers,
or RVs up to 22 feet long, but also be advised the sites are uneven
and difficult for RVs. Picnic tables and fire grills are provided.
Vault toilets and piped water are available. Boat docks and launching
facilities are on site. Boat rentals, a store, a restaurant, gas
and a propane are located at Elk Lake Resort, one mile away. Leashed
pets are permitted.
Reservations, fees: No reservations are accepted. Sites are
$9 per night, plus $3-$5 per additional vehicle. The campground
is open from late May to late September, weather permitting.

Directions: From Interstate 5 south of Eugene, drive 73 miles
southeast on Highway 58. Turn east on County Road 61. Drive three
miles, then continue north on Cascade Lakes Highway (Highway 46)
for approximately 39 miles to the campground.
Trip notes: This hidden campground is along the shore of
Elk Lake, where fishing and hiking can be good. A map of the Deschutes
