Trail
Description:
|
This
trail starts a few feet down the Eugene-to-Crest trail. It contours
below road 205 and climbs at a steady grade, crosses the road
above a harvested area and then enters the woods. The trail
in the woods follows rolling terrain before entering a large
meadow. The top of the mountain offers a beautiful meadow, good
views of the Hills Creek Reservoir, and numerous rocky outcroppings
along the Salt Creek drainage. |
|
Access:
|
Proceed
east from Oakridge Ranger Station to Oakridge. Turn left at
the signal to downtown. From downtown Oakridge, proceed east
on Forest road 24 (Salmon Creek Road) about 4 miles to road
205. Follow 205 to the right about 2.5 miles. The trailhead
takes off from the Eugene-to-Crest trail across from road 208
spur. |
